Culinary Educators Training Conference June 26–28, 2014

This two and a half day conference is held each summer and is designed to provide culinary arts instructors with the skills and knowledge to reach the highest levels of culinary standards in their classrooms. Attendees experience hands on lab time with industry experts, learn the latest in culinary trends and network with their peers and industry professionals.

Teacher Externship Program

For four weeks during the summer, selected Texas ProStart teachers will train with a TRA member restaurant and learn hands-on industry skills to incorporate into classroom curriculum. Teachers will gain “real world” work experience in front of the house, back of the house and management positions, a fresh perspective for curriculum development, exposure to current business trends and workplace cultures in restaurants, and the competencies needed to be successful in today’s workplace.

ServSafe for Educators

Wouldn’t you like to be able to certify yourself and your students in food safety through the nationally recognized ServSafe program? The TRA Education Foundation is making that possible by training and certifying high school educators as ServSafe instructors who then train and certify hundreds of high school students across the state.
